|
| |
Minnesota, USA (SC Times): Started in the Twin Cities, ECHO is a collaboration of public health and safety agencies and ethnic and nonprofit groups such as the American Red Cross. The ECHO program gives emergency officials a venue to communicate with people who have limited English skills. Emergency officials can contact ECHO with specific safety information they want relayed to the public. ECHO will translate the information to up to nine languages: Spanish, Somali, Hmong, Lao, Vietnamese, Russian, Khmer, Oromo and Arabic.
