California, USA (abc7news): More than a million Americans suffer from aphasia, a condition caused by injury to the brain - typically from a stroke. The result is the inability to effectively communicate. Many aphasia patients can no longer speak, read, or write. But they do understand. One Bay Area company is working to change that.
A computer device called Lingraphica is helping […]. It comes with a 5,000-word vocabulary, and combines pictures with the spoken word - an important pairing for those suffering from aphasia.
