Hong Kong (Electronic Engineering Times): Remote interpreting compatible with professional standards will only become a viable option when IP provides sufficient bandwidth and real-time signal compression-decompression systems enable FM-quality audio and pixel-free video signals.
Intersil Corp.'s new triple 16 x 5 video switch promises to reduce cost, board space and design time for video switching applications such as security video systems, large video distribution systems and KVM operations.
Designed for high bandwidth RGB (red, green, blue) switching applications, the EL4544 is a video crosspoint switch that has 16 (RGB differential) input channels, which connect via an internal crosspoint multiplexer to five single-ended output channels. The device also features integrated input and output gain controls, auto-calibration for DC restore, a pixel-by-pixel overlay mux and embedded sync decoding.
