Hyderabad, India (AP): In a bid to provide better government services, the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh plans to move Internet data thousands of times faster than now.
Under the plan, a consortium of six companies will build a new broadband network. The new network - estimated to cost 4 billion rupees (US$90 million, euro70 million) - will transfer data between the state's capital and its 23 districts at a speed of 10 gigabytes per second, or more than 5,000 times the speed on the existing web.
