VoIP hits critical mass

Toronto, Canada (Globe and Mail): The Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) industry could finally be hitting critical mass, just as the satellite radio industry did early in 2004, according to a report by telecom analyst Michael Rollins and cable analyst Niraj Gupta, both of Smith Barney.
VoIP is of interest to the language industry because of the potential drop in telephone costs (a major cost factor in the industry), and the use of high baud rates for remote interpreting.
