Stopping the use of children as interpreters
|
| |
California, USA (Lambda Letters Project): AB 775, introduced by Assembly member Leland Yee (D–San Francisco), would prohibit any state or local government agency, or state-funded agency or organization, from using any child, or permitting any child to be used, as an interpreter in any hospital, clinic, or physician's office for diagnosis and treatment. Such agencies must have an established procedure for providing competent interpretation services that does not involve children in this manner.
