Canadian constitution exemplary for language rights

Ontario, Canada (Canadian Jewish News): For more than a decade, Israel has looked to Canada in the development of a draft constitution because of both nations’ multiethnic and multicultural makeup. The Charter of Rights, enacted in 1982, has been regarded by Israel and many countries as a kind of gold standard for its protection of equality rights based on language, religion, culture and other variables.
