Arizona, USA (The New Standard): Arizona’s governor vetoed legislation this week that would have made English the state’s official language. Advocates for people whose first language is not English expressed relief, but warned that the defeated legislation was just one in a slew of attacks on Latino and other immigrants in the state’s legislature.
