Basque, Catalan and Galician languages not granted official status in EU

Euskadi, Spain (EITB): The Basque, Catalan and Galician languages will not be granted official status in the EU due to legal problems. People speaking Catalan, Galician and Basque, however, will be allowed to use their mother tongue at European Union meetings and in correspondence with the EU's institutions, the bloc agreed on Monday.
