Tokyo, Japan (Khaleej Times): Japan’s Supreme Court said on Wednesday it was constitutional for a second-generation South Korean born in Japan to be denied a promotion for a public job because of her ethnic origin. The ruling put an end to the decade-long legal battle of Chong Hyang-Gyun, a 54-year-old public-sector nurse who like nearly all ethnic Koreans in Japan is legally considered a foreigner.
