HCR 2030 and hate
|
| |
Arizona, USA (Tucson Citizen): HCR 2030 is legislation proposed for adoption in Arizona to make English the only official language in the state, despite the fact that more than 20% of its citizens are Hispanic. Debate is rife for and against the legislation, but as this report points out, the “linguistic foundation of the country is not English. Many languages - none of them English - were spoken in the country before the United States existed. These included Navajo, Hopi, Apache and other Native American languages.”
