Massachusetts, USA (Mondaq): A recent decision by the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court indicates that employers must exercise caution in taking security measures. In some circumstances, these practices may expose employers to potential defamation claims, even though the employer has not made any defamatory written or spoken statement concerning the employee.
