Kansas, USA (Kansas Dos Mundos): Zach Rubio is a teenager who is accustomed to speaking Spanish with his friends. Last week, the principal of his school, Endeaver, in the Turner School District, suspended Zach from school for two days for speaking Spanish.
When his father, Lorenzo Rubio, upset that his son had been suspended from school for two days, asked Jennifer Watts what his son had done wrong, he said she told him, “I don’t want to hear it [Spanish] in my building. We are not in Mexico; we are not in Germany.”
