Lahore, Pakistan (Daily Times): The government should enact laws to protect the rights of minorities and a regional body should be formed to monitor the situation of South Asian minorities in various countries.
These recommendations came from a group discussion on the ‘situation of minorities in Pakistan: Politics of exclusion and its impact on democratic development’ which was a part of the 10-day Second South Asian workshop on ‘Combating racism, xenophobia and discrimination against ethnic minorities and indigenous peoples’, arranged by South Asians for Human Rights (SAFHR) and the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP).
