Babies can communicate with adults before they learn to speak

London, UK (Telegraph): Scientists have found that even before they start talking, babies are able to communicate with adults with "non-verbal" signals like pointing. Previously it had been thought that children could only communicate information with an understanding of others' needs or wants from the age of two or three.
