Older fathers increase risk of autism

New York, USA (New Scientist): Men over 40 are almost six times more likely to father a child with autism than younger men, according to a new study. Israeli researchers looked at birth data of more than 130,000 people born in the 1980s, where the paternal and maternal ages had been recorded. Of these 110 – or just over 1 in 1000 – had an "autism spectrum disorder". ASD can include autism, Asperger syndrome and Rett syndrome.
