Monkey talk

London, UK (Scenta): The rhesus monkey makes use of the same brain regions which form the two primary language centres in the human brain. The findings come from research conducted by scientists at the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD) and the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). This gives further support to the theory that monkeys, apes and gorillas are a distant ancestor to the human race, as they may share the key neural mechanisms upon which language was based.
