Thought not dependent on language

London, UK (BBC News): Further to our report on “maths and mind”, according to new research published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, thought might not be dependent on language. A team at the University of Sheffield has shown that patients who have lost the ability to understand grammar can still complete mathematical calculations.
