London, UK (The Statesman): A new language area has been identified in the brain following a study conducted by researchers at the Neuro-imaging Sciences Institute of Psychiatry at King’s College in London. “Geschwind's territory” named after the American neurologist, who had first suggested its existence in the 1960s, is the third area in the brain to be associated with language.
Its presence was revealed using Magnetic Resonance Imaging, a powerful brain scanning technique, according to the “Annals of Neurology”.
