Fast ForWord program improves language learning

Wisconsin, USA (Monroe Times): Fast ForWord is pilot program that focuses on how the brain works and how students learn to help improve teaching methods and help more children learn to read and learn language skills more effectively and efficiently.
Initial controlled clinical studies were conducted in 1994 and 1995 at Rutgers University in Newark, N.J. The research showed "rapid improvements in language skills with the computer-based prototype of Fast ForWord ... including phonemic and phonological awareness, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, listening accuracy, speech discrimination, grammar and syntax."
