Right-brain stroke may be underdiagnosed

London, UK (Newswise): People with strokes affecting the left side of the brain may have difficulty with speech, while people with events on the right side of the brain might have awareness deficits. People with strokes affecting the left side of the brain may therefore be diagnosed more easily than those with right hemispheric stroke, according to a Research Letter in this week’s issue of The Lancet.
