Meet the Bonobos
|
| |
Iowa, USA (Des Moines Register): The Great Ape Trust has started to receive eight new Bonobos to take part in its ongoing research program. Bonobos, like other great apes, are in danger of extinction. They are found in the wild only in the Democratic Republic of Congo in Africa. These apes are genetically closer to humans than other great-ape species and resemble people in their facial expressions and in walking upright. These particular Bonobos can speak with symbols, play music, work video games with a joystick, draw and role-play.
