Washington, USA (U.S. Newswire): SMU and the Fort Worth Independent School District announced today the beginning of a groundbreaking study that will answer the question: Can children with mental retardation learn to read? Nearly 600,000 children between the ages of 3 and 21 have some level of mental retardation and need special education, according to the U.S. Department of Education, which is funding three studies nationwide.
