Future computers

Dhaka, Bangladesh (The Independent): The man-machine relation and the role of computers is of crucial importance for our future (both that of our species and in our own jobs). The following is an excerpt from an article published in The Independent about the issue:
“The task of teaching computers to understand natural language is a great challenge because computers at present are neat, orderly and logical where human language is complex, rich and alive. Moreover, computers deal with information serially bit by bit, but the systems within brains have no problem dealing with several parallel inputs at the same time. Future computers that will model human learning must involve the co-operation of neuro-biologists, psychologists, linguistics and computer scientists.”
