Osaka, Japan (Daily Yomiuri): After five years of work, a volunteer group has completed translating an English version of The Tale of Genji," which is said to be the world's oldest surviving full-length novel, into Braille. "The Tale of Genji" was written by Murasaki Shikibu in the middle of the Heian period (794-1192). The massive Braille work was donated to a library in the United States, and its data was offered to a library in Japan this month.
