Rouen, France: The International Federation of Translators has adopted both the English and French versions of Inttranews as the standard news service for the Federation’s new-look site.
The advantages of the service are numerous: because it combines state-of-the-art new information and communication technology to source the news articles, with human editors to sort them for relevance, the content can be customised is that it continually corresponds to readers’ interests.
Secondly, it uses i-frame technology, enabling automatic updates of news articles on partner sites as and when the parent site is updated. I-frame technology also enables the transfer of images.
Thirdly, the Inttranews service is multilingual, with articles specific to each language version.
Finally, the technology developed for the Inttranews service can be applied to any market sector with equal relevance, but requires the linguistic skills that only professional translators possess. It therefore provides a tool for professional translators to diversify their offer and reply to the increasing demand created by the on-going Information Revolution.
