India: Globalisation endangers the existence of many languages

Panjim, India (Nahvind Times): The noted Marathi writer, Mr Arun Sadhu on Saturday said that the age of liberalisation and globalisation has endangered the very existence of many smaller languages, and further forced them to take a hybridised form. Mr Sadhu who earlier inaugurated the Western and Southern Writers Meet, at Kala Academy, on Saturday, further observed, "Therefore, the work of keeping such languages alive is very important". He also informed that many countries around the world have done so, and kept their respective languages in use.
