That’s up from the £52 million ($89.5 million) in operating profit that the company reported in the prior year when sales were £786 million ($1.35 billion). The company entered India’s market for the first time last year, offering ten books in Hindi and Marathi. In 2006, Penguin expects to up that number to 70.
